Dr. Bruce B. Rosenthal. MBA, PhD
From Wall Street’s trading floors to College Dean to the quiet hum of a paintbrush, Bruce Rosenthal’s life is one big adventure.
Painter. Educator. Global storyteller.
Early Passion & Training
Bruce fell in love with art as a kid in NJ/NY. He earned his BFA at Syracuse University, where he immersed himself in Japanese prints and culture and history, and language... That spark sent him halfway around the world.
Tokyo & Teaching Days
He spent five years teaching in Osaka’s schools. The colors, the culture, the pace—everything shaped his eye. It was the start of his signature style.
Wall Street Meets Canvas
Back in the States, Bruce earned an MBA at Rutgers and joined Dow Jones in Tokyo. He balanced numbers by day and sketches by night. His two worlds were about to collide.
Island Life & Pop Art Experiments
He moved to the Mediterranean with his wife, Yoko. There he sold drawings, graphic designs and acrylic paintings across Asia and Europe. That island chapter taught him to turn business lessons into bold brushstrokes.
Academia & Studio Today
Since 2003, Bruce has led graduate programs and earned a PhD in Health Policy. Even in his current role as a dean of a college of business, he never set aside his palette. His classroom stories now feed his canvas.
Style, Influences & Signature
Think Gauguin meets Hokusai with a dash of ’60s psychedelia. Bruce works in ink, pencil, watercolor, woodblock, oil, and acrylic. His “hanko” rose-in-the-valley mark seals every piece.
Life in Florence, KY
Bruce lives with Yoko, daughter Mika, Corgi Woofgang, and black cat Ichabod. Family inspires every stroke. His home studio is where art and life meet.
